There are some shows that you watch once and move on from. The Gentlemen was never going to be one of them.
Guy Ritchie’s Netflix crime comedy arrived with exactly the kind of swagger you would expect from its creator: crooked deals, ridiculous criminals, aristocrats with questionable morals, sudden bursts of violence and enough dry British humor to keep the whole thing from taking itself too seriously. It was how much more trouble Eddie Horniman and the Glass family could possibly get themselves into.
Now we have the answer.

What Is The Gentlemen Season 2 About?
This is where things get particularly interesting.
Season 1 introduced Eddie Horniman as a man who never seemed particularly interested in becoming a criminal mastermind. He inherited an enormous estate, discovered that his property was connected to a very profitable cannabis operation and gradually realized that staying respectable wasn’t necessarily the safest option.
By the end of the season, Eddie was no longer simply reacting to the criminal world around him.
He was becoming part of it.
Season 2 reportedly jumps forward one year, with Eddie now far more comfortable in his role. That change is one of the things I’m most interested in seeing. The fun of Theo James’ performance in the first season came from watching Eddie try to maintain his aristocratic composure while everything around him descended into chaos.
Now he’s had time to adapt.
And that’s potentially much more dangerous.
The new season follows Eddie as he attempts to expand his criminal empire beyond the English countryside. The operation starts reaching into Europe, including Italy, bringing new criminal organizations and unfamiliar enemies into the equation.
That international expansion should give the show plenty of room to introduce the kind of eccentric criminals that made Season 1 so entertaining.
Eddie, Susie and Bobby Glass Are Walking Into Trouble
The relationship between Eddie Horniman and Susie Glass remains one of the central pieces of the story.
Kaya Scodelario’s Susie was one of the strongest characters in the first season because she never needed to announce how dangerous she was. She could walk into a room, assess the situation and start calculating the next move while everyone else was still trying to understand what had happened.
Season 2 puts Eddie and Susie in an increasingly complicated position.
Their criminal operation is getting bigger, which means there is more money to protect and considerably more territory to fight over. Meanwhile, Bobby Glass begins making increasingly reckless decisions from his position of confinement.
That creates a nasty problem for Eddie and Susie.
Do they remain loyal to Bobby and risk watching the entire operation become unstable? Or do they take control themselves?
Personally, this is the storyline I’m most curious about. Eddie becoming ambitious was inevitable, but the real question is whether he can become powerful without turning into the very kind of person he once wanted nothing to do with.
The Returning Cast
The main cast returns for the second season, giving the show plenty of familiar faces alongside its new international characters.
Theo James returns as Eddie Horniman, now the Duke of Halstead and a considerably more confident player in the criminal underworld.
Kaya Scodelario is back as Susie Glass, continuing to serve as one of the smartest and most unpredictable figures in Eddie’s organization.
The returning cast also includes:

- Joely Richardson as Lady Sabrina
- Vinnie Jones as Geoff Seacombe
- Ray Winstone as Bobby Glass
- Giancarlo Esposito as Stanley Johnston
Freddy, in particular, should remain a source of chaos. Daniel Ings gave the character an almost impossible combination of stupidity, confidence and occasional accidental brilliance in Season 1.
That’s a dangerous combination when criminal money is involved.
New Faces Bring The Story Into Europe
Season 2 isn’t relying entirely on the original cast.
The production has reportedly added 23 new actors, with several notable names joining the expanding ensemble. Among the prominent additions are Hugh Bonneville, Benjamin Clementine, Benedetta Porcaroli and Michele Morrone.
The season is also set to feature appearances from Chris Eubank Jr. and Maya Jama.
The larger cast fits the story’s international direction. Once Eddie’s operation moves beyond familiar territory, the series needs new personalities capable of making the criminal world feel larger than the estate and its surrounding countryside.
And let’s be honest: one of the pleasures of The Gentlemen is discovering what kind of strange character will walk through the door next.
Production and Guy Ritchie’s Signature Style
Filming for Season 2 began in May 2025 and wrapped in October 2025. The long wait between seasons was partly connected to Guy Ritchie’s other filmmaking commitments.
Ritchie remains closely associated with the series, and that’s good news for anyone who enjoyed the original visual style.
The show works because it doesn’t feel like a standard crime drama. The editing is energetic, the dialogue is sharp and the violence can turn from absurd to brutal in seconds. There is always a sense that something ridiculous is about to happen just around the corner.
Season 2 expands the production geographically as well, using locations in London, the English countryside and Europe to reflect Eddie’s growing operation.
That should give the new season a larger scale without losing the distinctly British personality that made the original so entertaining.
Season 3 Is Already Happening
Here’s the part that makes the future of the series particularly interesting: Netflix has already renewed The Gentlemen for Season 3 ahead of the Season 2 premiere.
That’s a pretty strong vote of confidence.
It also changes how I look at the upcoming eight episodes. Season 2 doesn’t have to function as the final chapter of Eddie’s story. Instead, it can push the characters into a much larger conflict and leave certain doors open for what comes next.
Considering how quickly Eddie’s criminal operation has expanded, there is plenty of room for the story to become even bigger.
The danger, of course, is that bigger isn’t always better. The first season worked because the characters were compelling before the criminal world became enormous. If Season 2 starts throwing international crime organizations at Eddie every five minutes, the show could lose some of its grounded charm.
I’m hoping Ritchie and the writers avoid that trap.
The Best Way to Binge The Gentlemen Season 2
With eight episodes arriving simultaneously, Season 2 is practically built for a weekend binge.
My advice would be to avoid spoilers as much as possible. The series thrives on reversals, hidden deals and characters who suddenly reveal that they have been playing a completely different game.
If you have forgotten parts of Season 1, a quick rewatch of the finale would also be useful before starting the new episodes. Eddie’s transformation from reluctant heir to confident criminal operator is the key piece of the puzzle.
And don’t underestimate the runtime. At roughly 60–65 minutes per episode, watching all eight episodes consecutively means committing most of a day to the Horniman estate and its increasingly dysfunctional criminal empire.
That’s not exactly a hardship.

For me, the biggest attraction isn’t simply getting eight new episodes. It’s seeing what happens when Eddie stops being the reluctant aristocrat caught in someone else’s criminal operation and starts actively building an empire of his own.
That’s a much more dangerous Eddie.
And judging by where Season 1 left him, that’s exactly the version of the character I want to see.
